Troubleshooting PC Issues (Steam)

If you are experiencing issues with controller recognition, missing downloadable content (DLC), or game launches on Steam, please follow the steps below.

Issue 1: Controller is Not Detected

If Space Marine 2 is not responding to your gamepad, Steam’s input overrides or overlay settings may be conflicting with the game's native controller support. Try these three solutions:

A. Disable Steam Input

• Right-click on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 under LIBRARY > Properties.

• Click on Controller.

• Select Disable Steam Input from Override for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

• Close CONTROLLER window.

B. Disable the Steam Overlay

• Go to Steam > View > Settings > In-Game > uncheck "Enable the Steam overlay while in-game"

• Press OK

C. Clear the Steam Download Cache

Clearing your download cache can solve problems with games that won't download or start.

Issue 1: DLC is Not Showing In-Game

• Right-click on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 under LIBRARY > Properties > DLC.

• Tick the box under INSTALL and close the DLC window.

• Click Steam (upper left) > Settings > Downloads.

• Click on the Clear Cache button from Clean Download Cache and click Confirm.

• Steam will restart automatically.

NOTE: This process will not affect your currently installed games, but you will need to log into Steam afterward.

Additional workaround: Verify Integrity of Game Files though Steam

If the game refuses to start or crashes consistently, a corrupt or missing file during a patch download is likely the cause.

• Right-click on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 under LIBRARY > Properties.

• Click on Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
